Welcome to Moscow!

18/07/2010

Today we officially started the Summer School in Russia 2010.

Finally, after some rest and a short introduction of what is the plan for our next days, we had the chance to enjoy our first day in Moscow.

We start with a typical Russian salty breakfast. After that we had the group of Russian students waiting for us ready to guide us to visit the Park Tsaritsyno.

Because of a really unexpected very high temperature, compared to Russian standards, we just took a walk in the shadow and we had the opportunity to talk and interact with our Russian collegues. Our group was very impressed of Russian students hospitality and kindness, always reliable to join us offering themselves to bring us wherever we would like. Nikita answered every question about the city and their way of life.

We followed our plan, going back to the city centre and visiting the famous Red Square admiring the amazing view of the Kremlin, St. Basil Cathedral and ленин маусулеум (Lenin Mausoleum).

In the afternoon the group decided to have some rest in the hotel to get ready to meet again with our Russian friends for dinner. They took us to a very nice Moscow street Арбацкаъа (Arbatskaya) known for locals , pubs, and many different kind of artists performing.

The dinner was very nice but after that we were exhausted of our first day in Moscow, full of new things to see and learn... such as Cyrillic Alphabet and some basic Russian words. Our final destination was our very nice and comfrotable very hot rooms!
